The New Just Needs Paint logo from Jodi Richey DesignWe are official!!!  What do you think of the new look and feel of the website?

I am super excited about the branding of the blog. We are definitely past the grand opening–I was too excited to start sharing with you to work on a logo. I can’t call it a rebrand since there wasn’t a logo before…so we’ll go with the term “branding”. It definitely kicks the blog up another notch! Alas, the photos from the last 10 years will not get any better. 😉

A big thank you goes to Jodi Richey at Jodi Richey Design. The website now “spot”-lights Jodi’s artistry and mad graphic design skills. Working with her to create my vision was fantastic! She took it levels beyond where my imagination with pen on notebook paper left me. If you are ever in need of media wizardry, both online and print, Jodi Richey Design is your one-stop shop.

Going from these rudimentary ideas for the official logo...Jodi at Jodi Richey Design had her work cut out for her!

The goals of the header image were to capture class, work-in-progress projects, and appeal to ladies and gents of all ages because if you own a home of any type you can glean some inspiration here. Last, and most important, it communicates the website is more than just paint.* I think she nailed it.

Who isn’t chuckling at that little drip at the bottom of the logo?

While I mention the logo and header image, you may have noticed the paint splat favicon on the tab above and comments will now display the JNP splat with a newly created Gravatar.  Facebook and Pinterest are now updated with the logo optimized for their dimensions.

Thanks, Jodi Richey Design!

For full disclosure, Jodi is my sister-in-law. However, I would not have asked for her skills if I did not appreciate and admire her work. As a self-employed graphic designer, she has many major contracts in the works. Check out her website for more graphic design inspiration.

*Ha! I haven’t written a post about paint yet!
